    Under Minnesota's mandatory no-fault automobile insurance scheme, an insured's request that the insurer not defend or indemnify cannot be used to avoid intercompany arbitration under an arbitration agreement that expressly excludes noncooperation as a defense to coverage.

    Reversed and remanded.

       Minnesota begins search for uninsured drivers (January 9, 2004) (Minnesota Public Radio)
    "Officials estimate as many as one out of seven Minnesota drivers, or about 14 percent of the state's vehicle owners, don't have the legal minimum auto insurance required by law. In March, state officials will begin sending letters to 70,000 Minnesota drivers."

    The report contrasts the Minnesota situation and approach with those of surrounding states.
